Meet Dr. John C (Joc) Jernigan

My name is Joc Jernigan. I have had the wonderful pleasure of joining my father and the team at DentureCare and Implant Solutions in 2013. I grew up in Raleigh with my parents and two brothers, I being the middle.
I grew up watching my dad in his profession. I always was able to tell how hard he worked at it. During the summer when I was playing little league baseball, I would have to come with him to work where I barely started to see what an impact his and his team’s work had on people’s lives. As I got older this became even more clear.
As I started to have to face the reality of choosing a profession, these things resonated in the back of my mind, which helped lead me to dentistry. It is a blessing to be involved in a profession, and at an office, that can truly help change a person’s life by giving them their smile and confidence back, and ability to eat.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in psychology and chemistry and completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the UNC School of Dentistry.
I have a genuine passion for dental implants. My enthusiasm for them comes from knowing how much of a positive impact they can have and truly change a person’s life for the better. Dental implants are such incredible things, and one of the most important and amazing things to ever happen to dentistry. They have created so many new treatment options that did not use to exist and were not believed to be possible.
Dental implants can do so much for so many people, but I genuinely believe they provide the most benefit for a patient in a denture, especially patients dealing with a lower denture. For these reasons and more is why I have devoted an enormous amount of energy and time to learning everything I can about them, and have completed over 600 hours of continuing education outside of school devoted solely to dental implants and corresponding procedures.
I have had the opportunity to become a Diplomate of International Dental Implant Association in 2017, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, and a member of American Academy of Implant Dentistry. I am also a member of the North Carolina Dental Society and American Dental Association.
I love to watch basketball and football, especially my Tarheels, doing anything outside like sports, fishing, hiking, boating, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends. God has blessed me with such a great family and group of people surrounding me, and so much more that I am eternally grateful for!

If you are thinking about having implants, stop thinking and go out and talk with these folks. They do not talk over your head and take the time to explain in detail and answer every single question. Cannot say enough about how well they cared for me and made sure that I was not in pain, understood what they were doing and what to expect when completed. Just wish that I had it done fifteen years or so earlier. Even through the follow up visits, ALL the staff was courteous, responsive and you could tell they were genuinely concerned and cared. Never heard a negative word from anyone, no raised voices, Dr Journigan continuously explained and taught others as he went along. Seriously, I am enjoying foods now that I never thought I would be able to eat again and some even that I had forgotten about! Absolutely no regrets other than wishing I would have done it sooner.

I recently had implants done on the top and bottom and received ne dentures for both. I am so very happy with the success of this procedure. I am able to eat anything I want now; better than in years. I can smile my big wide smile like I used to be able to do and it feels so good. The staff was so wonderful, everyone was always so helpful. I always felt that I was their #1 patient of that day; such a great feeling. They are the best. I highly recommend the whole team. Having this procedure done is not a quick fix. It requires some patience on the part of the patient. Nothing good ever comes easy, but it is so well worth the time and effort that goes into it. Thanks to all who helped make me so happy. I hope my review shows as a 5 star, because that was my intent.

I must tell anyone interested in Dental Implants to check out DentureCare and Implant Solutions in Rocky Mount, NC! All the staff, from the front desk and on, were nothing less than professionals. Their dedication to my care was beyond my expectations. Always friendly, Kind and supportive. Getting dentures, especially with implants, is a process but Dr Jernigan and his staff made me feel right at home. painless through all the procedures. I,m enjoying food better now than ever. Corn on the cob, steak and bacon. Stuff I struggled with before. I do recommend them. 100% yes. I live in Kentucky, They were worth the drive (461 miles one way) for each appointment. If any of the staff is reading this I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I was facing a dental crisis, very unexpected and I was terrified…I had 13 dental consults, was even seen at a dental school by professors of dentistry, all gave me little hope of living the rest of my life with many teeth, I was at the point of completely giving up! Hopeless doesn’t begin to describe my mindset. My “new” family dentist asked me to please consider just one more consult, Dr. Joc Jernigan….with a heavy heart I agreed…Tonya did her preliminary work-up on my mouth, sat back, smiled and brought Dr. Joc in to access.. he firmly said, “I can help you, I can give you your smile back”! Two major oral surgeries later, I have the most beautiful and comfortable smile and teeth on the eastern coastline!!! Dr. Joc and Tonya never gave up, never said no, never even thought they could not restore my oral health and teeth! And through it ALL I have NEVER had one second of pain or discomfort!! Everyone says to me, “I cannot believe the miracle your doctor preformed and no pain”!!! There is no other practice/team anywhere that will give you the respect, commitment, results and care that Dr.Joc Jernigan, and the fantastic team at DentureCare provide…I am proof!!

These folks are great and so down to earth that getting my implants and 'new teeth' was actually a pleasure 🙂 Their work is the finest. I am writing this two years since having these folks complete a number of extractions, 6 implants, and 'new teeth' installed. I have not had an issue since and expect I will not going forward. The new teeth mount/snap in as firmly today as they did two years ago. My smile and eating ability are as natural as ever. I rarely review, but this team deserves credit for their awesomeness 🙂
